Step by step
- Click the download button above. It opens Zack KI in the Microsoft Store; the arrow next to it offers the “Direct installer download (.exe)”.
- Run the installer. If Windows SmartScreen warns about the direct installer, check that the file came from zack-ki.com, click “More info” and then “Run anyway”.
- Start Zack KI. “How to use Zack KI” shows the shortcuts: Alt+1 for selected text, files or a screen area, Alt+2 for an empty chat. You can change both there, see keyboard shortcuts. “Start with Windows” is on by default.
- Click “Continue to sign in” and choose “Sign in with Google”, or enter your email and click “Send link”. If the link does not open the app, click “Link is not working?” and enter the code from the website.
- Click “Show me around” for a short tour of the window, or close it and start asking.

Zack KI runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. There is no version for other systems yet.
Where does Zack KI run after setup?
In the Windows notification area next to the clock. Left-click the icon to open Zack KI as if you had pressed Alt+1; right-click it for “Open”, “Settings” and “Quit”.
Hiding the window with Esc leaves Zack KI running, so the shortcuts keep working. Under “Settings” → “Advanced” → “System and startup” you find “Start with Windows”, “Keep running in tray” and “Always on top”. With “Keep running in tray” off, closing the last window quits Zack KI.
How do I change the look and the language?
Under “Settings” → “Appearance”:
- “Theme”: “System”, “Light” or “Dark”.
- “Accent color”: “System color” or “App blue”.
- “Interface scale”: 90, 100, 110 or 125 %.
- “Language”: English or Deutsch. At the first start, Zack KI takes your Windows language. Chat answers follow the language of your question; “Summarize” and “Explain” answer in the interface language.
Sounds are under “General” → “Audio signals”: “Play sounds”, “Volume” and “Sound style”.
How do updates work?
Direct download: with “Automatically check for updates daily” on, Zack KI looks for a new version every day. A notice then offers “Update now”; Zack KI installs the update and restarts. You can also check by hand under “Settings” → “Advanced” → “Maintenance”.
Microsoft Store: updates arrive through the Store, and the update settings do not appear in the app.
How do I replay the introduction or get help?
- Introduction: “Settings” → “Advanced” → “Help & legal” → “Introduction” → “Show again”.
- Questions or problems: click “Support” in the settings to write an email to Zack Software.
- A wrong or strange answer: click “Report chat” in the title bar. The chat itself is sent only if you tick “Include the chat history”.
- Recurring technical errors: turn on “Send diagnostic data” under “Advanced” → “Maintenance”. The reports contain no chat content.

You can choose “Sign in later”. Zack KI models need an account with credits, so for answers you sign in or connect your own API key.

How do I uninstall Zack KI?
Use Windows Settings → Apps → Zack KI → Uninstall. Delete local chats in the app first if needed; uninstalling does not guarantee removal of all user data.
